Architecture and Maintenance Committee
Chairperson: Mark Hutchison 224-612-2106
This committee decides approvals of Architectural Requests after they have been properly signed by the appropriate Neighborhood Committee. It recommends policy to the Board related to maintenance of the roads, walkways and common structures in HeatherRidge. Performs analysis and research as directed by the Board.

The Audit Committee is responsible for ensuring the conduct and reporting of an annual audit of the Umbrella Association financial records and reports. They interview and recommend a CPA firm to the Board for this audit. They study and report to the Board on asset replacement budgets and actual performance. They recommend to the Board the various reserve fund balances and funding rates.

Enforcement Policy Review Committee
Chairperson: Selected as needed by Umbrella Board President
This committee conducts hearings for residents filing a written protest to citations issued by HeatherRidge security for violations of the Rules and Regulations of the Umbrella Association.

|
Committee of the Whole
On July 25, 2001, the HeatherRidge Umbrella Association Board of Directors revised the Executive Committee such that all nine Directors now serve as members. The President of the Umbrella Board is also the Chairperson of the Executive Committee.
This Committee considers and acts on personnel, litigation and emergency/crisis matters affecting the Association. The Executive Committee has the authority of the Board in the management of the Association, pursuant to the Article VIII, Section 8.01, of the By-Laws.
The Executive Committee operates under Robert's Rules of Order, must have a quorum of five members to conduct business and must report all actions to the Board for ratification during a regular board meeting.

This Committee considers and makes recommendations to the Umbrella Board on financial matters, including the annual budget, financial statements, neighborhood facilities budgets, the six-year plan, banking and investments. They research and report findings on matters sent to them from the Board.

General Election Oversight Committee (GEOC)
Chairperson: Todd Campbell (847-918-1976)
This newly established (November 2010) committee shall: Submit pertinent issues to the HUA BOD; Oversee and develop the at-large election process of the HUA BOD members; Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and fairness to HUA elections; Solicit candidates from owners to run for HUA BOD; Distribute candidate nomination forms and proxy ballots; Collect proxy ballots and coordinate counting; Collect ballots at Annual HUA Meeting; Present results of at-large election to HUA membership and BOD; Recommend potential solutions to matters brought to the GEOC; Submit a written monthly report to the HUA BOD.

The committee recommends to the Board policy regarding the business of the Golf Operations. The committee will review the golf budget as developed by the Golf Course Manager.

Landscape and the Woods Committee
Chairperson: Cris Mekuly Acting Chair for Terry Potash - (847 573-1651)
This committee is responsible for overseeing the management of the HeatherRidge landscaping operations which includes the management of the wooded area on both sides of the main entrance to HeatherRidge ("The Woods"). The committee is responsible for developing the related parts of the annual budget. They meet periodically and report to and advise the Umbrella Board on these operations and budget issues.

Chairperson: Open
The committee recommends to the Board policy on the ponds and waterways of the HeatherRidge Community. The committee recommends potential solutions to matters which have been brought to the committee either by the Board or the committee members. Performs analysis and research as directed by the Board.

A newly established (September 2011) committee which oversees and provides guidance to staff for development, maintenance, and design for HUA public communications including, but not limited to the website (www.heatherridge.org)and the HeatherRidge Happenings Newsletter.

Recreational Activities and Public Relations Committee
Chairperson: Carole Stern 847-680-6744
This committee recommends policies for the use of the HeatherRidge Central Recreation Center and the Picnic Grove to the Umbrella Board. It also recommends policies for the use of the neighborhood recreation centers and pools, in consultation with the Neighborhood Committees. It reviews the Central Recreation Center budget as submitted by the Community Manager and the budgets for the neighborhood recreation centers.
In its public relations role, it advises and recommends policies and activities to the Umbrella Board regarding public relations for the HeatherRidge community including a monthly newsletter, promotional material, advertising, activities and publications.
It also oversees the Welcoming Committee.

This committee recommends security policies to the Umbrella Board, including the relationships of the HeatherRidge Security Department with the Gurnee Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies.

Tax, Legislation, Law, Contracts, Insurance, and Special Issues Committee
Chairperson: Owen Hill 847-680-4312
This Committee provides research and advice to the Umbrella Board regarding Tax, Legislation, Law, Contracts, Insurance and Special Interest (TLLCISI) matters as they relate to the management of HeatherRidge operations. It is also the expert resource on the various Covenants, By-Laws and other regulations as they pertain to HeatherRidge and the Umbrella Association. It reviews the residential management and service agreements with the neighborhood residential associations. Annually, it reviews and makes recommendations regarding legal counsel, insurance policies, and the Rules and Regulations document. The other responsibility of this committee is to study and report on any special issues assigned it by the Board.

The committee recommends policies to the HUA Board policy regarding the business of the Tennis Operations. The committee provides the HUA Board with potential solutions to matters which have been brought to the Committee by the Board.

This committee is a sub-committee of the Recreation Activities and Public Relations Committee and is responsible for preparing for and conducting monthly orientation meetings for new residents in HeatherRidge.
Welcoming Committee meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month (Jan - Oct) at 7:00 pm at the CRF. At these evening meetings, newcomers are welcomed and receive a briefing on the HeatherRidge organizations, Security services, rules and regulations and social activities. The chairpersons and a representative of the Security Department host the meetings. Please note !! Our Chair-Ladies are volunteers and we cannot offer private or special sessions for a meeting. NO exceptions, you must find a way to attend a meeting if you want to use the recreation centers and pools.
