The HeatherRidge House of Delegates was formed by a resolution adopted by the Umbrella Board of Directors in May, 1991.  The purpose of the House of Delegates is to provide a forum whereby all Delegates can assemble and discuss issues and develop recommendations to be presented to the President, HeatherRidge Umbrella Board, particularly all matters that are covered by the Umbrella Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, Restrictions, and Easements and the By-Laws.

Members of the House of Delegates are those homeowners elected as Delegates by the eight Residential Association Boards under the HeatherRidge Umbrella Association.  Each residential association elects their own Delegates on the basis of one Delegate for each 35 dwelling units (or fraction thereof) in the residential association.   Each Association also elects Alternate Delegates to serve in the absence of an elected Delegate on the basis of one Alternate Delegate for each three elected Delegates (or fraction thereof).

The House of Delegates normally meets twice each year.  A semi-annual meeting is normally held on the fourth Tuesday of March for the purpose of electing aspiring candidates to the Umbrella Board. An annual meeting is normally held on the fourth Thursday of September.  A Speaker, Speaker Pro-Tem, and a Secretary are elected from among the members of the House of Delegates at the annual meeting to serve a two-year term.  If need be, the House of Delegates can meet in special session between its two semi-annual meetings.

The next semi-annual meeting of the House of Delegates (held just prior to the regular HUA Board of Directors meeting) will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2010 at 6:30 pm for the annual review of the Budget.

The election meeting for 2010 was held Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at 6:30 pm.  Primary Focus:  Election HUA Board of Directors.  Sam Dent, Terry Potash, and Carole Stern wre elected by acclimation to fill three 3-year terms.
