HeatherRidge Planting Memorial Program

The HeatherRidge Planting Memorial Program is an opportunity to maintain and improve the landscaped beauty of our beloved HeatherRidge with a meaningful and lasting gift to our community. It is possible for an individual, several individuals, or a family to donate an ornamental (small), deciduous or evergreen tree to be planted on the HeatherRidge Common Property.

These living donations could be made in honor of a friend or a family or a loved one as a memorial or for a significant anniversary or birthday.

Trees available for planting have been selected by our Landscape Department to fit in with our landscape and for hardiness in our climate. The Landscape Department will plant the selected tree(s) in areas throughout HeatherRidge that they designate consistent with the overall design and the maintenance plan. The donated tree(s) will be planted in the season that is appropriate for it.

Each donated tree can be marked with an 8" x 5" OR an 8" x 3" cast bronze marker. The Umbrella Association and the Landscaping Department will order and install these markers.

To make a donation, pick up a copy of the Memorial Planting brochure at the Umbrella Office, decide on a tree, complete the form and return it to the Umbrella Office.

A Note of Thanks for Community Service to HeatherRidge.
In June of 2005, Boy Scout Troup 672, under the leadership of Eagle Scout Will Akers, completed a Woods Cleanup and Maintenance project.  Will earned his Eagle Scout rank with his well-orchestrated and performed Leadership Service Project.  He made the plan, organized equipment and supplies, recruited scouts, directed, and successfully completed the project.

Our pathways in our woods were widened and bushels of wood chips were spread.  Briars were trimmed, and two new benches were built (NOT purchased!!) and installed for our comfort.  Take a walk in our woods, do it often, each day is beautiful no matter what the season.  The springtime is a most remarkable time of blooming and blossoming plants.

Consider donating a tree to our community.
Trees add to and help maintain our unique landscape.
