March 2007
As we enter the Spring Season, things are picking up at HeatherRidge as new and previously scheduled projects begin to unfold.
The Board will be discussing further the issue of the water spillway project (in need of repair), and the review and findings recently completed by HBIS Engineering. As funds permit, suitable repairs will be made to the spillway.
As we continue our efforts to determine positive responsibilities for several ponds crossing Fairway Ridge boundaries, Brad will be scheduling four additional non-affected ponds to be cleaned again this summer as the pond cleaning program continues.
The plan regarding the recently approved replacement of the fence surrounding the Golf Maintenance Building is currently being reviewed and should become a reality soon.
Health Insurance for the participating HUA employees will be with Aetna as of April 1, 2007. The cost of the insurance came out to be about 3% more than anticipated. However, this still represents a 19% reduction over the comparable Blue Cross plan, originally presented to represent about a 22% savings. Overall, both HUA and the employees are happy with this change.
The purchase order for the badge printer is being issued this week, and the initial printing equipment will be ready to install and put into operation the first week of April. The issue of initial badge replacement costs is still in question as a Board item.
I will be working very closely with Brad and Jason in replacing landscaping items affected by this past season’s snow plowing, and will be in contact with the various representatives of the neighborhood association on some common area issues. Please remember that new rules / resolutions concerning the use of any common area for personal gardens and changes MUST be approved by the Landscape Department Chief Brad Banwart. Please submit the proper forms to begin that process. If you have any questions concerning this important issue, please contact the HUA office for help.
I would like to thank our new Social / CRF director (Cathy Hawkins) for her hard work in putting together the Mardi Gras and St. Pat’s parties. They were warmly received by many attendees, and fun was had by all.
Congratulations to Cathy McGrath for successfully completing a course of study covering Essentials of Property Management. Cathy did extremely well, something that we all knew would happen.
Finally, I’d like to express my sincere and true appreciation to all of my well wishers here at HeatherRidge during my recent surgery and stay in the hospital. All turned out well, and I’m back on the prowl.Bob Marcus, CMCA, AMS Community Manager
